Policies and Procedures Food
At our preschool we believe that nutritious food fuels healthy bodies and growing minds. Our food program is designed to provide well balanced age-appropriate meals and snacks that support children’s development. We serve a healthy hot lunch provided by Jeffery's Catering which serves food under the Head Start Program (USDA). Apart from this we also serve a heathy morning and afternoon snack. We take food safety seriously and are attentive to any dietary restrictions and allergies. We work closely with families to ensure that every child’s health and safety needs are met. Meal times are an important part of our day. we serve family style dining where children practice self-help skills, try new foods and enjoy a sense of community with their classmates. Healthy eating habits start early and we are proud to be part of building that foundation. We are a nut-free school. All food is included in tuition fee. We are regularly visited and supervised by Virginia Health Department. |
Cleanliness and Hygiene
At Flagstone, health and safety of our children, staff and families is our top priority. Our classrooms, play area, surfaces, toys are sanitized and disinfected regularly. All rooms go through the following: 1) Our rooms are deep cleaned several times during the day and again at night. The toys are rotated in this process so there is plenty of materials available for children's use. 2) All soft toys, dress-up clothes etc are laundered as needed. 3) Staff supervise the washing of the children's hands throughout the day and hand sanitizers are places in accessible locations. |

Parents or designated guardians must sign in and out daily. Only authorized individuals are allowed to pick up children. We urge parents to keep appropriate forms up-to-date with names and signatures of individuals who may pick up the child. Our doors remain locked throughout the day and visitors are admitted and allowed in with management approval. | Health
